Cut a commercial. Cut a music video. Cut a record. It’s all cutting edge at ZapBoomBang. We are the one-stop, end-to-end, state-of-the-art resource for all your video and audio production needs.
We have five video suites, fully equipped with the latest and finest editing and post-production software and hardware. Or, if you want to make your musical concepts fly from your mind’s eye into reality, we offer two incredible studios with the tools, equipment and ambiance that make any other recording studio pale in comparison.
Both studios have soundlocks and performance spaces. One nicely accommodates a small orchestra. While the other is perfect for capturing the most personal musical performance.
Whether you are creating and performing music or posting your filmwork, ZapBoomBang provides an environment of absolute comfort, beauty and productivity.
As Aretha Franklin said, “What you want, baby, I got it!
All studios are designed with maximum flexibility in mind. Audio and video systems are completely discrete. All systems are 100% compatible and full connectivity is available for easy sharing of media and assets.
The control rooms are acoustically similar. This means there will be no change in the sound if you decide to switch to a different room to continue your project or take advantage of the live rooms.
All ProTools sytems are HD3 with ample I/O running on the latest Mac Pros with large memory and vast storage space.
All video editing is performed pulling media from a 40 GB SAN, allowing multiple editors to work with the same footage.
Playing off Ocean's 11 and inspired by the greatness of the Rat Pack, this bright, spacious, acoustically spectacular, one-cool-breeze of a studio is designed to accommodate the most demanding of musical projects – from a small orchestra or a multi-piece band to the most challenging individual performances. Ocean's features a 1922 Steinway Grand Piano in pristine condition, sharp as Dean's tuxedo, and a bright acoustical environment designed to bring every nuance to life.
Flanking the performance space are two soundlocks designed to isolate and capture individual performances, both with visibility to the large performance space and the control studio. Ol' Blue Eyes never had it so good. Yes, Ocean's Studio is very cool, baby. Very cool.
Empire Studio is inspired by the not-so-understated elegance of the old world. Rich in textures, plush contrast and regal colors. While Empire is beautiful, it's also absolutely functional. Everything serves a purpose – a sound purpose, indeed.
With enough space for a quartet, string or horn section and an adjacent soundlock, Empire is a magnificently efficient and comfortable workspace. And, with a control room with the exact same sound specifications as that of Ocean's Studio, producers and engineers can toggle sessions from Empire to Ocean's seamlessly. An inspiring space fit for a king – the likes of B.B. King, for example.
That's what your level of creativity will be doing in Smokin' Studio. It's perfect for stereo mixing, composing, surround or stereo sound effects cutting, or a very comfortable edit and finishing suite. Systems are discrete with ProTools, Final Cut Pro, and Autodesk Smoke. This is where the online and heavy compositing, motion graphics or animation happens.
A tribute to the Fab Four, this studio is great for audio and video editing, motion graphics or composing. It's fabulously equipped with ProTools, Final Cut Pro, and Avid Media Composer. All in discrete systems so no resources are taken away from your current task. How would you use it? It all depends on your needs. Your project is going to be great – with a little help from your friends at ZapBoomBang.
Identical to Lonely Hearts, although it gives off a less mod and slightly more tenor sax vibe, this studio is great for audio and video editing, motion graphics or composing. The suite is equipped with ProTools, Final Cut Pro, and Avid Media Composer. All in discrete systems so no resources are taken away from your current task. How would you use it? Again, it all depends on your needs and what kind of "good, good, good vibrations" you're going for.
Different strokes for different folks: The ZapBoomBang gang are into different things, but they do all have one thing in common – a love of the merger of pictures and sound and a passion for the beauty and power of music. They don’t just rock. They don’t just roll. They ZapBoomBang.

At the age of seven, Matias Lanzi began playing piano and conducting studies in composition, harmony and orchestration. At just 16 years old, he attended Berklee College of Music specializing in music production and engineering. Passionate, driven, prolific, some would even say a prodigy, Matias has since recorded or produced more than 100 Spanish albums, a few reaching quadruple platinum. In the post-production realm he’s sound designed, engineered and mixed award-winning feature films, TV and radio commercials for the general and Latin markets, and even co-developed editing programs of his own. Matias has a deep appreciation of the art of music, knows the science of editing and production, and brings that rare combination of talents to one place – ZapBoomBang.
Editor Post-Producer
David attributes his whitening hair to the 20-plus years he’s been in the advertising industry, first as an assistant cameraman, and later as an editor and video compositor. Over that time he’s had the opportunity to work on music videos with Ricky Martin, Celia Cruz and Carlos Ponce, among others. He’s also participated in the Puerto Rico Indie Film production, where he edited various made-for-TV movies, documentaries and a mini-series. David has edited numerous commercials for the general and Hispanic market for such clients as Miller Lite, Coors Light, Heineken, Ford, Chrysler, Bacardi, Budweiser, Sprint, AT&T and Banco Popular de PR. And recently, he edited a major theatrical film release. One of his favorite parts of the job is that he gets to play with all those technological toys and digital wonders that abound at ZapBoomBang.
Recordist Sound Designer Mixer
Class clown, recording engineer extraordinaire (just ask his mom), hardcore Star Wars and futbol fan, Edmundo caught the audio recording bug in the early ‘90s while getting his degree in communications. Thirteen years later, after paying his dues at a number of L.A. studios, he found himself recording the Munich symphonic orchestra. Edmundo has been nominated for the Latin Grammy twice, and Paul McCartney waved to him once. Commercially, he’s recorded and mixed countless TV and radio spots for clients such as Verizon, Toyota, Coca-Cola, Ford, T-Mobile and Sears.
